On February 20th, the blog “Come on Back” was a call for all Christians to come back to the faith during the Lenten season, regardless of their transgressions. The message was loud and clear. God loves you and just like his love is infinite, his mercy is infinite.
Any of you who have not come back during this Lenten season may be feeling a bit remorseful. You may be saying, “I should’ve , I could’ve,” especially now that Easter Sunday is on the horizon. But let me say this: With God it is never too late! He welcomes you with open arms. So come on back and enjoy the Risen Christ.
Purposely, this blog is brief. Why? Maybe you want to take a few moments of silence wherever you are and contemplate the message. In doing so, you may hear God saying in silence, “You know deep down I want you back regardless of your transgressions.” Ponder for a moment what Luke has to say in Chapter 23:42-43.
Christ is on the cross with two criminals, one on each side. One is rebuking Christ, but the other says to him, “We are getting what we deserved, this is a just man.” Then he turns to Christ and says “Remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Christ replies, “Amen I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Need any more proof of God’s love and mercy? Tell him you will be at the Easter celebration this Sunday at a church of your choice. Welcome back!!
