Wow! The Persian poet who I wrote about in the previous blog had it all right: It’s true we are all connected.
Back in 2011, an artist in New Orleans named Candy Chang created a massive blackboard on an abandoned house. She wrote on it the following: “Before I die I want to…….”
People were encouraged to express their personal thoughts. Since then, the idea has gone viral not only in the United States, but throughout the whole world. The comments vary from personal wishes to inspirational comments.
The prevailing theme, as Candy Chang says, is the following: “The walls show how universal our hopes are. We want to love and be loved. We want to help others. We want to understand who we are.”
Remember what our Persian poet said:
If thou feel’st not for others’ misery,
A son of Adam is no name for thee.
